After 30 years in public education, I retired ready for new adventures. What I discovered was that retirement doesn’t come with an instruction manual. The shift from structure to freedom was exciting—but it also challenged me to rethink what productivity and a meaningful life looked like.
Time could be savored, not managed.
Slowing down was not the same as falling behind.
A jam-packed calendar no longer defined a life well lived.
Those discoveries changed the way I saw retirement—and sparked my mission to help others create a vibrant life in their own next chapter.

Today, I speak to organizations about creating a retirement that is vibrant, joy-filled, and unapologetically fun! I offer practical, budget-friendly, doable strategies that help audiences move from wondering,
“What am I supposed to do all day?” to asking, “What shall I do next?”
Because retirement isn’t about filling time. It’s about choosing how you want to spend it—and waking up excited about what comes next.
My own retirement has taken me to 45 countries, live theater in San Francisco, New York, London, and Sydney, and countless volunteer experiences across the Monterey Peninsula. I’m a year-round volunteer and Ambassador for Sunset Cultural Center in Carmel, California.
